Alien vs Predator : The Requiem
The original Alien came out in the 70s, and still scared the bone marrow out of me as a child in the 80s.
The original Predator came out in the 80s and scared the spinal fluid out of my terrified child's body.
Some genius thought it would be perfect to merge the two concepts together and create a universe where there's the Predator hunting people, the Aliens using people as breeding fodder, and just a whole lot of violence going on.
It's not the best idea, but it spawned comic books and novels, fleshing out a novelty idea into a dedicated universe.
When the video game came out, I thought it rocked. I used to decapitate Marines with my spinning disk thing, and as an Alien, I'd run along the ceiling to drop down on unsuspecting prey.
The film, which came out in 2004, was a pretty big 'Eh...' from moviegoers, though, earning poor reviews from just about everyone. Enough people went to the cinema for the movie to rake in $171 million worldwide, spurring the creation of a sequel.
Personally, I think it'd make a better video game. Man, that'd be intense with today's technology.
Instead, they'll release this movie, then put out a half-baked movie-themed videogame a couple of weeks after, for the backwards-hat frat-boy crowd. 'Duuude, I totally just ate your face! Dude!'
A sequel to that wretched movie from 2003, Alien vs Predator. Be warned - the trailer is VERY gruesome! I've got to say, that violence/killing montage of scenes at the end got me jumping in my chair!Part of what made the first one so bad was the PG-13 rating it got slapped with and the skimpy violence. And you know what, HOT DAMN this doesn't look half bad! The violence even in this trailer is just enough to get me excited, what about you?
The iconic monsters from two of the scariest film franchises ever, wage war in an American Midwestern town – with the residents caught in the middle. David Paetkau, John Ortiz, Johnny Lewis, Reiko Aylesworth, Sam Trammell, Shareeka Epps and Steven Pasquale star.
